Ormewood Park

Located just east of Grant Park, south of Reynoldstown and west of East Atlanta, Ormewood Park is a neighborhood that for many years has remained a hidden Intown Atlanta real estate gem. Initially developed in 1892, but not annexed by the City of Atlanta until 1922, the area has been significantly impacted by two World Wars and a series of initial revitalizations and then disappointing declines. The results can be seen in an eclectic mix of prefabricated cottages, Craftsman homes, older Victorians and 1960s brick ranches that for the most part were worn down, worn out, and in need of a great deal of TLC.

Ormewood Park real estateIt was not until the early 2000s when Ormewood Park caught the eye of savvy investors and homebuyers that the once hidden neighborhood’s revitalization began. It was easy to see the benefits of Ormewood’s close proximity to downtown Atlanta, several Interstates (I20, I75, I85, I285), and Hartsfield International Airport. It was also easy to appreciate the impact of new commercial, retail and residential development in surrounding areas like Grant Park, Inman Park, Candler Park, East Atlanta, and more. Not to mention Ormewood’s easy access to Atlanta’s unlimited offering of innovative restaurants, attractions, parks and outdoor activities. Today, with the addition of Glenwood Park, a neighboring “new urban” mixed-use development, the continuing expansion of Edgewood‘s retail center, and the future development of the Atlanta Beltline’s Southeastern Trail, the evolving neighborhood of Ormewood Park has become a great place to call home.

No longer a secret, but still within the reach of many budgets, home prices are on the rise in Ormewood Park. Many homes have already been completely renovated while others remain available for a buyer with vision and a passion for renovation. New and established townhomes and condominiums are also available.
